I suppose it’s not surprising there was a beerstand at Koberg Beach. It looks like the building is either a repurposed ship or a building styled to look like a ship.
Earl Koberg was son of John and Emma Koberg, and brother of Prince, Clara, and Lena.

His brother was named Prince, and he got named Earl.
There’s got to be a story there..

Rawhyde, I think there are many stories to the Kobergs and Koberg beach which are hard to sift through after all these years. Remember John Koberg was one of the leaders of the Anti-Asiatic League. I would like to ask him how as a German immigrant he could be so opposed to Japanese immigrants. Maybe asking him how he named his sons would be an icebreaker to that conversation?

I think the first I heard of the Anti-Asiatic League was on this site when Arthur mentioned John Koberg as a member.
I don’t remember learning about it in school.
It is some very interesting history to learn, going back to the 1860’s and Chinese labor on the railroads to riots on the west coast and British Columbia, encouraged by labor unions.
