Devil’s Punchbowl Postcard

I’m usually frustrated when I see one of our artifacts defaced by someone trying to add information, but this one made me chuckle. The commentary “very wrong” is correct, as it’s very hard to figure out how this relates to the real Devil’s Punchbowl. I’m also a little perplexed how the Devil’s Punchbowl is on the Mt. Hood Loop Highway. I think it basically followed SR35, with some small differences, but did not go up through Dee.
Whatever this postcard really shows, splashing around in water is probably a good idea today, and we’re lucky to have plenty of places to do it.

Thanks Kurt, I think you solved the mystery. Someone either confused the falls, or they were considering the Columbia River Highway part of the Mt. Hood Loop Highway.
FYI I don’t think you can embed an image directly, so including a link is the best solution for now. I’ll have to see if there is a more feature-filled text box available to improve the site.
