It wasn’t “all work and no play” at the Liberty Home Orchard. Here is a visit to Dead Point Falls, near Devil’s Punchbowl.

I spy 14 and maybe 15 if that shadowy image up in the right hand corner is a person.
So this would have been a trip across the valley for the Mason family?

If that is the Punch Bowl by Otter Rock that would have been an extended trip. Don’t know the date of the picture. Bit I would guess a good part of Hwy. 101 consisted of driving on the beach at low tide at that time.

My bad. Prediction is for very good viewing of northern lights tonight from the Pacific Northwest. They can be beautiful when they are really dancing.

As I recall this falls there’s no place to stand on the right side. I wonder where the photographer perched to take this shot?

My shot is from the other side of the river. I don’t recall anyway of shooting the way they did. Maybe there was some sort of structure anchored to the cliff

I thought that was a small log on the left side of the falls, but it is in both the HHR photo and Dan’s photo.
Is it a pipe?

Is that a dog’s head peeking around the greenery with the man in the middle?

nels, there is no dog in the picture– because he is taking the picture. How else did the photographer perch on such a precarious cliffside? Though I suppose he could be using a very early quadcopter.
