Notes
OK, what’s the make of the car and which road is this? That looks like Mt. Adams in the background, so Google Earth should help with the second question. Hopefully Dale’s extensive knowledge of radiator caps will help with the first.
Charlott
Initially I thought it was Eastside, but the hills on the right would be too far away for that. Has to be in the middle part of the valley. Don't even have a guess.
Buck Parker
I'd guess that the road is Tucker Road south of Windmaster Corner. No idea about the car.
Dale Nicol
Arthur, this is tough but I am leaning towards a truck. I base it on the short, elevated hood. Notice that it does not have a Boyce built in thermometer, like the “Motometer” radiator cap.
RHD
I believe this is Markham Rd. Looks like it goes down hill, and then back up again at the end.
Suej
Looks sort of like my route to town on Frankton near Kreig’s
Harold
+1 Markham
Will
Mt. Defiance to the left?
Ben
Markham is my guess too.
Dan Kleinsmith
I agree with Markam
Jim Gray
I will also go with Markham, rocks on side of road indicate Rockford area.

Good work. The distant hills line up for Frankton/ Methodist/ Markham. I didn't think there were enough clues about how far north/south, but I missed the rocks. Good catch, Jim. Still waiting on the model/ year for the truck, though.
James Beam
that must be Underwood Mountain on the left
LH
Looks a lot like Markham. Probably too early to have the painted stripes on the telephone poles that the airport used – and are still there.
Dave
I'll vote Markham too. Would be the right angle and distance towards Underwood.
Ellen Hopkins
I agree it does look just like Mt. Defiance….BUT look at that huge white,snow-covered mountain on the right of the photo which with angle appears to be shaped like Mt. Adams. Can't be Markham then. I vote for a Parkdale area road.
Randy Moline
Country Club Road looking north towards Underwood mountain and Mt Adams
Dale Nicol
I am guessing it might be a 1916 to 1918 REO Speed wagon.
Jim Gray
Ellen this is the view I have out of my north facing picture window on our home on Markham, this may well be in front of our house that was built in 1917. Sorry Arthur, not enough showing of the car/truck for me to take a guess.
Jeanie Senior
Looks like a Model A Ford radiator cap and shell to me…
Jack Sheppard
Underwood Mt. looks cleared then about the same as now. If you notice, the road changes alignment about the middle of the distance to a curve. That occurs at section lines, in this case maybe Windmaster Corner? So you are looking across the low land where the baseball diamond now is, to the corner in front of the high school? I can't say for sure, but I'd throw my lot in on the Tucker Rd. guess. And, there are some humongous boulders available around the Alpinees Hut…
