Historic Hood River
Cotton Candy
4-12-2019

Notes
This sure brings back memories. Cotton candy always seemed so magical. And it always left your hands and face so sticky.
This classic scene is from the Hood River Rodeo, I believe in 1947. Can anyone identify these happy folks?
Charlott
i don’t know who these people are, but know I was there that day. It was held over at the Hood River Saddle Club grounds and was a big thing in the day.
That was the day the big old bull got out and took off. They immediately lost track of him and he was all over and made a rather long trip. They finally captured him down in the vicinity of what is now Grace Su’s. At least that is the way I remember it…

The days of Hood River being a rodeo town are long gone.
But, cotton candy has survived. Nothing like cotton candy stuck to the face and hands and then add some blowing dust.
Chuckling at the little guy stepping over the cable. It will be interesting to see if any of the local can identify the subjects.

That’s an amazing story Charlott.
