Cottage on Hazel Street

I though about using this for a “Where Am I” post but that would have been cruel. This cottage is long gone, and there isn’t much context. But as soon as I tell you where it is, you’ll be able to picture it: after examining 20 images of it from different angles I can tell you it was on the north side of Hazel Street, just east of the Second Street stairs. The photo was taken from the stairs, circa 1915.
New time you walk the stairs, when you’re nearing the top of the long steep section, look up and to the left. If your brain is sufficiently oxygen starved you may see the ghost of this cottage.
This cottage appears repeatedly in the Davidson collection with many of the same cast of characters lounging about on its porch. I suspect it was owned by a family member or friend, but I have yet to check the county records to find out for sure.

The spelling of names in the 1910 HR census is atrocious. This is how I interpret the names.
Living at 410 Hazel Ave. were, Albert Whitehead, age 39 his wife Amanda B, age 42 and daughter Mary or Mari Whitmer 11 years old.
Amanda B was the sister of Horatio and Ella Mae Davidson.
I don’t know if #410 Hazel is in the area of this cottage, but it might be a clue.
