We’ve talked about Mrs. Alma Howe’s Cottage Farm Summer Resort before, but I don’t think I shared a picture. This was on Belmont Street. Here’s another image from the site.
My grandparents used to stay at the Cottage Farm when they visited. I always thought it was on Belmont. The present site of the care center.

Norma, I agree with your statement. I am sure others will have some input.

Belmont, of course! I frequently mix up Belmont and Brookside– both right turns off of 12th that begin with a “B”! I'll correct the notes.

so was the care facility during the 1950s what I remember as the Hamby Nursing Home? if so, it was across the street from our 1948-1960s home on Belmont (Route 4 Box 311; why do some things just stick in the pea brain?),,,the old Crowe (check me Roger) house.

Absolutely Arlen; we moved to the A. J. Crowe house the weekend of the Vanport flood . I wasn't much help at the age of two.

My great-grandmothers sister lived there until she died – she is buried in Idelwilde. Betty Jones. My mother took me to visit her in the late '40's – all I remember was a kind old lady and she sewed me a plaid jacket.
