I hope someone can identify this location. If it’s Hood River, I’m guessing the east side because of the mix of pine and fir.
I think that’s a winch. The rope goes off at an angle so I don’t think it’s a well.
There are two nice homes on the hillside. One is easy to spot. The other seems to be the source of some of the smoke hanging around the trees.
