Historic Hood River
Christina Munroe, Oregon Legislature

Notes
Notes indicate this is “Mrs. Christina Munroe, state legislature.” I was able to find a brief bio of Mrs. Munroe and her first husband, William Munroe, in this set of Hood River biographies. She was born Christina Stanger in Germany and moved to Hood River, where she married William Munroe. Newspaper articles indicate she was active in local philanthropies. After Mr. Williams death she married Gottlieb Graze, with whom she had four children.
The chronological list of Oregon legislators shows Mrs. Munroe was a member of the Oregon State Legislature representing District 20 in 1939. I am unclear why she is listed as Mrs. Christina Munroe at that late date, well after Mr. Munroe’s death and her remarriage.
You can read about Mrs. Munroe’s 1922 trip back to Germany in this Hood River Glacier article.

She is also listed as Mrs. William Munroe representing District 20 in 1937.

Christina Stanger Munroe’s mother, Mrs. Stanger, remarried to Gottlieb Graze, not Mrs. Munroe.

Jeff, you can’t see this unless you create an account… that was my experience anyway, and I don’t care to create an account…
I would like to see it if there is another way…
