Remember, Charmosette is found only in Gossards!

As you’ve probably guessed this is a lantern slide from the Rialto Theater which would have advertised all the wonderful products you could buy at the Paris Fair while you were waiting for the motion picture to finally begin.  Charmosette was an elastic material patented in 1925 which was used to make women’s undergarments.  Gossards were a brand name for a corset which laced in the front so a woman could get in or out of them by herself.  Here’s an ad in Vogue with a little more detail.

This artwork screams “Roaring 20’s” which would be consistent with the patent date for the elastic material.  Here’s some more advertising or related products.
