I’m impressed the catcher for this Hood River baseball team had all the gear, even a helmet. Someone in the league must have had a wicked fastball.
I recognize the fence as the backstop at the Heights baseball field at 12th and Belmont Street, where the armory is today. It was known as Columbia Park.
I think this is one of the Franz brothers, either Edgar or Earl. His face matches the face in this image.

It sure was in my youth!
At my sandlot we played workup baseball so everyone got a turn at every position. Usually played until it was too dark to see the ball.
My favorite activity.. I’ll never forget those days!
