Notes
This large building housed workers who built the canal and locks at Cascade Locks. According to the Cascade Locks History Museum, this dorm later became part of the Columbia Hotel downtown. It was razed in 1972 as part of an urban renewal project.
Longshot
Interesting to see the size and somewhat rounded nature of the boulders in the one layer of the cut. I would guess that these might have been from the Bonneville (Bridge of the Gods) landslide? Wonder what material underlies that layer? Seem to be much finer material, but still the larger pieces are obviously rounded.

The Cascade Locks History Museum is well worth a visit….not a bad place for train watching either.

Looks like it might be an inversion day with the smoke coming out of the chimneys.
Is that pipe or concrete in the trench?
Does anyone know how deep the landfill from the slide is, in this area? Is it thirty feet or three hundred feet? I think before the slide the river channel was north of this site.
