The photo note indicates this was part of a stock of 4,800,000 cans at an Alaskan fish cannery. This composition seems like something you might have seen in Life Magazine.
This is true to form with the old AGA cannery in Hood River. I am not saying that they had that many cans, but would have certainly had an vast stock pile of them for canning fruit.
A member of AGA could purchase those cans for next to nothing for home use. We had the crimping machine that was used after cans were filled to seal them up. Many Celilo Falls caught salmon ended up in those cans, processed and YUM good winter eating.
