Historic Hood River
Canned Wind, circa 1990
8-11-2021

Notes
History keeps happening, so the History Museum keeps collecting. I remember when these cans of “Columbia Gorge Wind” were on the shelves of souvenir shops on Oak Street. Fortunately someone thought to send one to the museum where I found it waiting to be photographed, entered into the database, and stored in the archives. I enjoy imagining the 22nd century version of me running across this and trying to figure out what to make of it. Hopefully we’ll leave enough clues he’ll have a chance.
If anyone knows some details about who came up with the idea for the can of wind, let me know so I can add it to the record for this artifact.

Any clues like company or bottler on the can?

Apparently these cans were produced in June, 1984 for the Pro Am Speed Slalom, held that month at Hood River.

Great post. I actually have a can of canned wind that I bought back in 1998.
