    Schneeloch had his office in the Lumberman's Building in Portland. A business man with his fingers in many pots….

    I didn't recognize the bridge at all, until I read the title.
    I think we must be looking at the Washington side. Off too the right is the grave of Norman Palmer who was killed in the Cascades Massacre.

    Oregpn side, the toll booth was over the first concrete pillar. The bridge joined the old highway at this point before it was raised and had a stop sign in the near left corner of the picture.

    And that old wood deck rattled enough to alert the toll keeper
