As you can see, this Hood River Ski Club image is from January 1926, and bears the inscription “Bill Jones caught a fox.” I’m guessing he was tending his traps on skis.
Are those ropes ski leashes or are they used to tow the skis up hill. I have never seen anything quite like that. Bill Jones with his skis on doesn’t have the ropes. While we still have foxes, they don’t seem to be very common here now.
