This image of Bertha Madge Warren, daughter of Elizabeth and Bernard Warren, looks to be circa 1900. I know hammocks are not a new invention, but you don’t see many of them in old photographs. This may be the only one in our collection.

    Good eye, LE. I think it is horse tack of some sort.

    Looks like it's derived from an Indian blanket. You commonly see hammocks similar to this in Mexico nowadays.
