More likely this was a demonstration to help Alva Day sell more electric ovens and ranges. The sign in the background promises “Electric Timer automatically turns the oven on and off like having a maid at no cost” and “Heat Control automatically maintains the correct heat, indicates actual oven temperature.”

Can’t help but think of the parallels to our current moment in time where “electrification” is all the rage, with EVs, solar panels, all electric homes, etc. Alva Day would have loved this moment in time!
