Identifying this view turned out to be easy. I can read the name “Cabrillo” on the ship, and a search of Wikipedia for the SS Cabrillo yielded almost this exact view of the ship docked at Avalon on Catalina Island of the Southern California coast.

So I assume this is an original picture taken by Laraway himself. If so, then we now know the Laraway's traveled to Southern California, presumably sometime between 1900 and 1910?
