Here’s another of the series of glass lantern slides we recently uncovered. They were shown in the 1920s in a local movie theater while the audience was waiting for the show. They offer a charming view into 1920s fashion and advertising art.
Many Hood River women of this era bought patterns and fabric at the Paris Fair so they could do their best to keep up with modern fashion. The suspender skirt is one fashion idea that failed to catch on.

I am trying to remember if I bought patterns at Paris Fair in the 1970’s. I know I bought them at Ben Franklin.

I don’t recall if Paris Fair had a fabric department. I know in the ’50s we bought fabric at J. C. Penney’s, but don’t recall every purchasing any at The Paris Fair.

The fabrics were on the east side of the mezzanine to the east of cashier’s area. Myrtle Nance was the "cashier" as I remember.
