    Look at the apples on that tree. It is loaded. I wonder how old this orchard is.
    They look relaxed and comfortable, but lots of hard labor went into to this setting.

    Where's my water colors? Lovely shot, but are they lying in the dirt?

    How many apples do you count on that tree?

    Yes, they are resting in the good earth. At that time orchards were clean cultivated. Orchard mowers were still a long time short of being invented, and grasses and weeds became a hopeless tangle through which to run rill irrigation. Hay mowers were used some, but were not really satisfactory.
