I guess we shouldn’t be surprised Alva Day would hitch a ride on a biplane to get the best vantage point for a photograph of the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem.  We know he went to the State Fair in 1934 when he took this image.  That large building was lost to fire in 1967.
