And yet by today’s standards, it looks bizarre not to see ANY kites. The ratio of sails-to-kites seems to be about 1-25 these days.

As an observer driving along Hiway 14, the sails are more cheerful looking as they skip and bounce across the water.

A very high wind day – lots of "sheep" on the water! Agree with Kyle: the distinctive difference in this picture is the lack of kites – you would see just as many windsurf sails in 2017.
