Notes
This is a half of a stereo card of the A. I. Mason packing house in Pine Grove. It was a substantial building for that era. There are some interesting architectural/structural features visible. It looks like there is a chimney and four air vents on the left section. What’s that second chimney like structure in the middle? My first guess was a lightning rod, but it’s not high enough. It also looks like there are stairs up to basement access.
If you’re wondering what Charlott would have had to say about this, you’re in luck. She commented on this view which I believe shows the building before it grew to this size. She went to look for it, but determined it had burned.

Looking at the link from 2014. I am curious what went in or out of the big doors on the third floor (counting the basement).
Looking at todays post the addition on the right is taller but missing the 4th floor? One will never know!

That is quite the building. I came from the west end of the Gorge where there was a prune dryer every few miles. Some of the nicer dryers had pipes coming out of the roof. I assume for ventilation.
I wonder if that is what part of this building could be. A fruit dryer.
