Historic Hood River
A Boy and His Dog
3-26-2020

Notes
Here’s another great Pet Parade image with, of course, a boy and his dog. Unfortunately the dog moved his head during the exposure, but you can still make him out.
Notes seem to indicate the boy is Roger Thomas. Does anyone know him?

Boy that’s a good one to make you smile.
Surprising that his hat is Mexican style. Or maybe not. He is performing in front of a packed house.

This is just what we need right now, a most adorable little guy to make one’s heart melt! Thanks, Arthur! Don’t know who he is, but it does not matter.

The Pet Parades were a Great Depression era effort to brighten people’s moods.

Notice all the smiles in the crowd. Forgetting their condition for a few minutes. You can go to the Hukari Shelter website and put your dog or cat in the contest, or just vote for your favorites.
Evidently lots of shelter animals are being taken home while everyone is quarantined.

I don’t know for certain, but think that this little boy is some way related to Mildred (Thomas) Annala. Probably Maija (Annala) Yasui would know.
