Notes
This group of soldiers parading down Oak Street seems appropriate for Veterans’ Day. They are not identified, so they will have to stand in for all the veterans we honor this day.
I think I got the location right below. I am used to seeing JC Penney between Second and Third, but this must be an earlier location between Third and Fourth, west of the Cascadian/Liberty Theater.

appears to be WW 1 vets. my flag is up. at 11 today, Bells of Peace, dinging 21 times at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center and MANY other locations around the country. 11-11-11. eleventh month, eleventh day, eleventh hour.

Arlen…I wondered the same thing. And I wondered about the head gear, if any, on the gentleman at the back. Does anyone see any weapons?

JC Penney originated in 1902 in Wyoming. In 1918 Oregon had 18 stores.
In the Jan 17, 1918 HR Glacier, E.P. Michaels is the manager of the HR store which was established the spring before.

In January of 1919, JC Penney was located at 312 Oak St.

The November 09, 1922 Hood River Glacier p.1 has a description of an Armistice Parade. Formation was on State St. between Sixth and Ninth St. The parade marched on State to Front, north on Front to Oak. West on Oak to the Rialto where the parade will disband.
I couldn’t find that HR had an Armistice parade before this.
