Meet the “Blue Goose.” I believe Blue Goose was the name of an apple packing house, and this colorfully attired man is participating in one of the pet parades of the early 1930s. At least I am guessing he is colorfully attired.

I colorized the photo on MyHeritage, and it is indeed colorful and the goose is blue(ish).

Yes someone in Hood River used that label. It wasn’t the name of a packing house. The Blue Goose had something to do with the American fruit Growers Association.
I am probably totally wrong here, but I want to say that the Blue Goose label had something to do with either Pooley or Duckwall.

Looking at the goose close up, I think it may be a sculpture. There doesn’t appear to be anything holding it still, and the legs don’t look very realistic.

You are right Jeffrey. On closer look, I probably would not have to worry about this goose hissing and chasing me around the back yard.

Hood River shows that Pooley Fruit Co. used the Blue Goose for Blue Goose Pears. Blue Goose was also used by others not in Hood River.

I also found that that Blue Goose label was used in California in the orange industry. Probably also in the south.

It looks like the carton top, the goose is sitting on says "Apples" Blue Goose.

Dale is correct, it does say "Apples" on the Blue Goose crate.
