Historic Hood River
PP&L Office

Notes
I’m pretty confident this is an interior view of Alva Day’s Pacific Power and Light office on Oak Street. There’s a nice selection of appliances to choose from if you need help figuring out how to consume more electricity. A poster in the back promotes “America’s Electricity Week,” starting on December 7th.

Vulcan still makes electric and gas ranges catering especially to the restaurant size appliances.

Do we know the location of this building? Still there? Looks like a repurposed bank.

Andrew, if my ID is correct this is at the NE corner of 4th and Oak, currently the home of "Melika" clothing store.

Indeed, if this is the PP&L Office, then this is where the Hood River Civic Theater used to have their rehearsals in the evenings back in the 1950’s. I particularly remember rehearsing here in 1952 for their production of "The Return of Peter Grimm".
