The shot appears to have been taken from high up and far away, which makes Benson Bridge look smaller than it does in most photos. I agree the photo appears to be reversed.

Good point, Tom. Usually the proper scan is "emulsion up" but somehow this entire set of lantern slides is flipped. I’ve reloaded the image with the proper orientation.

Tom Kloster and Longshot, this image was no doubt taken from the treehouse/wooden platform at Multnomah Falls. The small building off to the right is the Multnomah Depoe which was the train station. If we could see farther to the right, and if The Hazelwood is not there it dates the photo to pre 1916. The road looks like it is either dirt or warrenite. (Highway was dirt in 13/14, in 15 it was warrenite, 16-present is paved)
