I can’t get a grasp on this photo at all. What direction are we supposedly looking? Trying to find a familiar landmark, but can’t seem to. If that is suppose to be Defiance, I can’t see a mainstreet that would run north and south. Help me here.
Are we absolutely sure this is Odell?

I believe it is looking NNW and that is Underwood Mt on the right.

You’re correct, Kevin. I’ve cropped the image but in the original you can even see Mt. Adams off to the right. That’s the main street in the lower-middle-right, but the buildings at the south end are obscured by the trees.
This is actually from a postcard with the single word "Odell" burned in. I cropped it tighter to show some detail, but I think I should have gone even tighter. As Charlott points out it’s a bit hard to make out any landmarks from this direction and at this resolution.

Good job Kevin. When I first opened the photo up, I thought I was looking at the Columbia River, but when I read Odell, I tried to make it an east/west view. What is on the hill now, where the photo was taken from? Homes, orchards, or is it still an open hillside?
