Another fine Alan Winans image from Wyeast High School, 1950s. Hopefully one of you can recall her name. Alan mentioned it to me a couple of weeks ago but I forgot to write it down.

Looks like a young Bruce Witacre from Dee flat in the window I don’t have a clue on the young lady, Bruce graduated in 58 as I recall.

Single door. Busses now have double doors. Good bus driver. Tire right up against the curb.

I spy saddle shoes, head scarf and a hand was wiped across the foggy window.
My mother and my aunts wore head scarves. My generation did not. We also did not wear saddle shoes. They had gone out of style when I was in high school.

HR County School District buses….one of my now favorite memories is our family going back east in the 1950s to pick up a new school bus from Lima, Ohio for the school district….father John L. was the Deputy Clerk. We all five (3 kids) went back via the Empire Builder boarding at a flag stop across from HR. Bail of hay in the back of the bus for us kids to nap on…..trip was a bit slow coming home. He bought multiple buses….I think his favorite was a Kenworth pusher model with the motor in the rear built I think in Washington. You are absolutely right Arthur….images trigger LOTS of memories.

I think the second woman getting off the bus is my mother, Judy Eastman Beam. I asked dad (Jim Beam) what he thought. Here’s his response:
"It sure could be. She rode the bus with the first person getting off. That definitely is Rose Sumoge, a good friend of hers. I can’t be positive that it is your mother, but it does look like her."
