This fine view of State Street is centered on one block which hasn’t changed much. The buildings between Stewart Hardware at 3rd Street and 2nd Street are very much as they are today, though the tenants have changed. They even parked their horses and wagons diagonally on the south side of the street. You can see the Yasui store along 3rd Street. The City Hall building wouldn’t be built at 2nd and State until 1920.

This must be a group parking area because of the hitching rail?
I wonder if the city had an official pooper scooper. Seems like there would be a pretty could pile of horse biscuits by the end of the day.
Looks like a load of sawed timbers came into town from a sawmill.

I remember when the house in the extreme left side of the photo was moved up behind Big Horse Brew Pub. Pretty sure that’s the one.
