This is the historic Tilly Jane A-Frame built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s. It was recently restored and refurbished, and is even available to rent. The Portland Nordic Club provides a fine history of the structure and surrounding district.
The reverse as an ID of the man on the left. Unfortunately it is torn, but seems to say “Harr?? Ethel on left.” We met Crag Rat Harry Ethel at the 50th Anniversary in 1976 (he is identified in one of the comments).

I’m not sure, but the man on the right looks like my grandmother’s brother, Bob Vaughan. He was a member of the Hood River Fire Department.
