Historic Hood River
Art deco style
3-30-2026

Notes
Grace selected this atomizer from the collection for your enjoyment this morning:
This orange, black, and gold Art Deco-style perfume atomizer was manufactured in 1926Â by the DeVilbiss Co. of Toledo, Ohio. The frosted glass bottle is enameled on the interior bowl and on the underside of the bottle. While its journey to Hood River remains a mystery, it serves as a beautiful example of 1920s craftsmanship in our collection. It is still intriguing to imagine the stories this bottle could tell, or whose dressing table it may have graced a century ago.
Feel free to fill in the story!

I did not have a clue that DeVilbiss ever made such a beautiful work of art in the past. I only know of the company making excellent air supply and painting equipment.

It’s very similar to Czechoslovakian glass of the same period. Did DeVilbiss make the class and the pump apparatus?
Ellen
Lots of Art Deco architecture in the Gorge.
