This image of the Mt. Hood Railroad engine 11 was taken in 1950, near it’s end of service. According to this site this steam locomotive came to the railroad new in 1920, and was sold to the Oregon Lumber Company in 1951, where it was eventually scrapped. If you look closely you can see the manufacturer’s “builder number” of 53486.

Waiting for comments from our esteemed railroad authorities, but doesn’t it look like the boiler seams have opened up at the rear of the boiler?

You can’t see the boiler. It is covered by cladding (insulation) which is covered by sheet metal, which is showing some damage. Mostly cosmetic, with some risk to clothing of crew moving along the running board.
