Historic Hood River
“Drawing For This Beef”
4-8-2025

Notes
I included this Joe Young image from the Hood River rodeo for all the great old products it highlights. While the jars of French’s mustard indicate they were selling hotdogs, the shelves hold packs of Lucky Strikes cigarettes, Roi-Tan cigars, several types of chewing gum, Baby Ruth bars (the big ones!), Milky Way bars and Lifesavers candies. There are crates of Squirt soda, Dad’s root beer and Coca Cola. You can also see the sign for Nesbitt’s, and orange soda.
We previously dated the Hood River rodeo to 1947. It was held at the Hood River Saddle Club on Belmont at Country Club Road.
I wonder who won the beef raffle?
