This advertisement for W. F. Laraway’s services prescribing and grinding eyeglasses is from The Hood River Glacier March 14, 1912 edition. The apparatus he is using is very impressive! It’s not quite clear how it works, but it sure looks like the patient is getting value for their money.

Don’t have any info on whether jeweler and ophthalmologist were common crossovers. Kind of makes sense since they use similar tools, but I don’t have any other examples.
