We don’t have any additional info on this image, but this group seems very capable of entertaining themselves. I’m told that is a “duet bones player”. Not sure if the dog is enjoying the performance.

I can give a little information on the family back ground of Caughey. His wife Gertrude was of the old Masiker family that lived in Columbus, Washington in the 1880’s. Her maiden name was Crosby. It is interesting that so many of these families sort of followed each other around. The McDonald’s of Biggs and now we have members of the old pioneer family of Masiker. Definitely these old families that ended up in Hood River together were friends, their children were friends, etc. I seem to recall that Caughey came to this area originally from somewhere in Pennsylvania.
That man probably is playing what they called the "bones" much like they also played the "spoons."

The gathering appears to be in someone’s home, but they are dressed rather formal. I wonder what the occasion was.
I am on a laptop so can’t see clearly, but what is Mr. Caughey playing?

It looks like a ukulele being played by Mr Caughey and the man standing to the left in back is playing an accordion
