Did Someone Lose a Contact Lens?

Notes
I don’t know exactly what is going in here, but it doesn’t really matter. Other images in the album indicate the Thomsons took a family trip to the Oregon Coast, circa 1912. Whatever they’re looking for– perhaps agates?– the view is timeless. I can smell the ocean fog, feel the rocky sand beneath my feet, and appreciate the hunt for whatever treasure the ocean might have deposited on the last high tide.

Arthur, your observation looks to be very well correct!

It appears the horse is also looking.
Interesting. If it was a sandy beach I would say they were looking for razor clam holes.
Definitely not sandy.

Definitely Agate hunters, except the horse. I recognize the half stoop that the people get when they hunt.
